General Manager- Operations

Core Accountabilities / Responsibilities
1. Operations & Project Delivery
• Provide executive oversight of all operational activities from project handover to final delivery.
• Ensure consistent execution of project governance, planning, scheduling, and reporting.
• Drive on-time, right-first-time delivery across all projects.
• Resolve cross-functional bottlenecks impacting cost, schedule, or quality.
• Ensure operational readiness for mobilisations, dry docks, and site works.
2. Supply Chain & Procurement (SCM)
• Oversee procurement strategy for materials, subcontractors, and logistics.
• Ensure supply chain resilience, cost control, and timely availability of materials.
• Approve key vendor selections and contract negotiations.
• Monitor inventory control, material traceability, and wastage reduction.
• Align SCM planning closely with production schedules and project timelines.
3. Production & Fabrication
• Oversee workshop / production operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Drive productivity, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure production outputs meet engineering drawings, specifications, and class requirements.
• Monitor fabrication KPIs, manpower utilisation, and rework rates.
• Champion lean manufacturing and operational excellence practices.
4. Engineering Design Office (EDO)
• Provide strategic oversight of the Engineering Design Office.
• Ensure engineering deliverables are accurate, buildable, and aligned with production and site requirements.
• Drive timely issuance of drawings, MTOs, and revisions.
• Ensure effective design change management and coordination with Operations and SCM.
• Support digitalisation and automation initiatives (e.g. MTO tools, CAD standards).
5. Financial & Commercial Control
• Own operational cost control and margin protection across projects.
• Review project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete.
• Support variation claims, change orders, and commercial risk mitigation.
• Ensure alignment between operational decisions and financial objectives.
6. Governance, Safety & Compliance
• Ensure full compliance with ISO, class, client, and statutory requirements.
• Champion a strong safety culture across operations, production, and sites.
• Ensure operational discipline through SOPs, work instructions, and audits.
• Act as a key contributor during external audits and client inspections.
7. Leadership & People Development
• Build and lead a high-performing, accountable operations leadership team.
• Set clear performance expectations and operational KPIs.
• Develop succession plans and capability within Operations, SCM, Production, and EDO.
Foster cross-department collaboration and execution discipline.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Certification:
• Degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Strong background in marine interiors, shipyard, offshore, or project-based fabrication
• Minimum 15–20 years of operations leadership experience.
• Proven experience in marine interiors, shipyard, offshore, or project-based fabrication environments.
• Demonstrated leadership across Operations, Production, SCM, and Engineering.
• Strong background in managing complex, fast-track projects with multiple stakeholders.
