ICF Group delivered the complete interior fit-out for the newly built 500-passenger fast ferries Warbaby Fox and JL Cecil Smith, purpose-designed to serve as high-performance public transport vessels. The project focused on creating interiors that are robust, efficient, and comfortable, while meeting the operational demands of daily, high-frequency service.
The scope of works included the main deck passenger areas, wheelhouse, upper deck, crew lounge, and all wet units. Each space was carefully planned to maximise passenger flow, safety, and ease of maintenance, with durable, marine-grade materials selected to withstand intensive use and the marine environment. The resulting interiors provide a practical yet welcoming experience for both passengers and crew.
Built by Strategic Marine for the Government of Bermuda, these ferries form part of a broader initiative to modernise and decarbonise public maritime transport. ICF Group contributed to this sustainability objective through thoughtful interior design and material selection, supporting vessels that achieve approximately 25% lower CO₂ emissions per passenger-mile compared to earlier generations.
This project reflects ICF Group’s capability in delivering functional, future-ready interiors for large-scale public transport vessels, combining performance, longevity, and sustainability to support the evolving needs of modern ferry operations.
